Blue Noses Group

The Blue Noses Group was founded in Russia in 1999 and consists of Alexander Shaburov, Viacheslav Mizin, Konstantin Skotnikov, Dmitry Bulnygin and Maxim Zonov. The founder of the group, Alexander Shaburov (b. 1965 Berezovsky) graduated from Sverdlovsk College of Arts in 1985 and the Sverdlovsk Academy of Architecture and Arts in 1986. In 1998 he received a grant from the Soros Foundation; he lives and works in Ekaterinburg and Moscow. Viacheslav Mizin (b. 1962 Novosibirsk) graduated from the Novosibirsk Architectural Institute in 1984; he lives and works in Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg. The Group has had solo exhibitions at the Display Gallery in Prague, the State Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Selected group exhibitions include the National Museum in Oslo, the National Museum in Baden-Baden, and he Tate Modern White Chapel Gallery in London. They also took part in the 2004 Moscow Photo Biennale, the 2003 Venice Biennale, FIAC Paris, and ArtCologne. They are represented by the Guelman Gallery in Moscow and Marat Guelman in Kiev.
