hobbypopMUSEUM was founded in 1998 in Düsseldorf and London, and consists of Sophie v. Hellermann, Marie-Céline Schäfer, Christian Jendreiko, Matthias Lahme, Dietmar Lutz, and André Niebur. Each artist exhibits individually, and together, as a closely collaborative group, they produce site-specific installations with a strong narrative impetus. Employing a wide range of techniques and materials, multi-facetted image systems emerge in which large format canvasses, drawings, photos, sculptures, films or performances find an iconographic unity among themselves. hobbypopMUSEUM's work has been shown at the Tate Britain and the Bonn Kunstverein. The group is represented by Vilma Gold in London. |
