Pierre Bismuth was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France in 1963. He won an Academy Award for his screenplay of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and was nominated for the first Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2001. Selected exhibitions include Kunsthalle Basel; Witte de With Museum Rotterdam; Sprengel Museum Hannover; Lisson Gallery, London; Jan Mot Gallery, Brussels; Erna Hecey Gallery, Luxembourg; Cosmic Gallery, Paris; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Casino Luxembourg; Manifesta 4, Frankfurt; MAMCO Geneva; 49th Venice Biennale; and Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. He is represented by Christine König Galerie, Galerie Erna Hécey, Galerie Jan Mot, Cosmic Galerie, Dvir Gallery, Galleria Sonia Rosso, Lisson Gallery, and Mary Boone Gallery. Pierre Bismuth lives and works in London and Brussels.
